Tokyo won a bronze medal in the 200-meter Olympic breaststroke Matti Mattsson arrives in Finland on Friday afternoon.

HS.fi will show Mattsson’s return home at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport from around 2.20 pm.

Mattsson was met at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport by his wife and mother, representatives of the Olympic Committee and a large number of journalists and photographers, among others.

The number of recipients surprised Mattsson, even though he could guess the direction.

Mattsson was the first to get a long and warm hug from his wife Maiju.

In an interview with the media, Mattsson said he was very pleased with his medal, and recalled the difficulties he had in his career.

“Personally, I would like to get home to the children as soon as possible,” he said.

At home, Mattsson was waiting for three-year-old Varpu and Aarni, who is less than a year old.

Mattsson hoped that by his own example he would also act as a trick for those for whom the competition contract is still ahead.

Mattsson said he believes the best swims of his career are yet to come. On the same flight with Mattsson, the coach arrived Eetu Karvonen.

“I will go to the hall next week and wait for Matti to come when he comes. It is not worth stopping yet, but Matti will decide for himself, ”Karvonen commented on further plans in an interview with ISTV.

On Friday, Mattsson will still have medal coffees organized by his hometown Pori.

On Thursday, Mattsson grabbed the Olympic bronze with a new SE time of 2.07.13.
