The Swedish media reported on Wednesday early evening that the train service had been stopped due to a technical problem.

The Finnish Transport Agency the malfunction of the telephone system in Sweden has been fixed and the trains can start moving, Swedish media reports.

Earlier in the evening, it was reported that the train service had been stopped due to a technical problem.

The Finnish Transport Agency told news agency TT that it was a safety measure. Since the telephone connections between the traffic control centers and the train drivers did not work, the security system told the trains to drive slowly to the stations and stay there.

“Transport centers cannot communicate if, for example, someone is on the tracks, and that’s why we have to stop [liikenne]”, said the agency’s press manager Bengt Olsson for TT.

The problem affected all control centers, so it also affected practically all trains. The disturbance occurred in the early evening, when there were still plenty of trains in traffic.

The Finnish Transport Agency still did not know on Wednesday evening what caused the problems with the telephone system.
