FC Groningen won a friendly game against sc Heerenveen on Friday, with former Feyenoord player Sven van Beek as a debutant, 2-1. The northern derby lasted 4×30 minutes and was played in Rolde.
Wessel Dammers opened the score on behalf of FC Groningen with a header after a cross from Tomas Suslov. The Slovak made his first minutes after his European Championship participation.
The Pole Pawel Bochniewicz equalized, also with the head. The winning goal could be called the credit of Jørgen Strand Larsen, although the ball seemed to disappear into the goal via a player from Heerenveen.
NAC Breda gives Sparta first defeat
Sparta Rotterdam has lost a game for the first time in the preparation campaign for the new season. The team of trainer Henk Fraser lost to NAC Breda, which just failed to promote to the Eredivisie last season. At Het Kasteel it became 1-2.
The final score had already been reached at halftime. Ralf Seuntjens opened the score for NAC from a corner kick. Via Kaj de Rooij the people of Breda, trained by Edwin de Graaf, continued their distance. Tom Beugelsdijk scored from a free kick against on behalf of Sparta.
