After a short summer break, the fifteenth edition of the Suzuki Rally Cup is ready to continue on the special stages of the 45th Rally 1000 Miglia, sixth and penultimate act of the CIAR Sparco.
Eleven Suzuki Swift R1s competing for the highly popular Japanese brand single-make, among which the leader Matteo Giordano stands out. After the four affirmations of this season at Ciocco, Sanremo, Alba and Lana, the Cuneo-based always together with Manuela Siragusa, will present himself in Brescia on his side with 133 points, leading the Italian R1 Championship and, in the event of another top performance he could mathematically win the trophy with two races to spare.
But Giordano will still have to pay attention to the races of the other hybrid cars of Giorgio Fichera and Igor Iani, eight points behind each other. The Catania Fichera, having earned second place behind Giordano, together with Samuele Pellegrino, will have to contend with the young Ossola Iani and Nicola Puliani, will want to improve after second place last year. Desire for redemption instead for another well-known face of the Roberto Pellé trophy.
In his fifth participation in the Rally 1000 Miglia, the Trentino driver this time sailed by Luca Franceschini, will want to redeem himself from retirement in the last round held in Biella. In the Suzuki parterre two other hybrid cars of the young Gianandrea Gherardi always together with Mattea Modenini and always willing to improve and score points, in addition to Marcello Sterpone navigated by Giancarla Guzzi.
The hard-fought races for the Racing Start category are also expected at the Rally 1000 Miglia. Among the crews on the Swift in RSTB 1.0 version, absent the current leader Stefano Martinelli – who will return for the last two events in Verona and Liburna – the most anticipated will be the main rivals Cristian Mantoet with Roberto Simioni and Danilo Costantino with Alessandro Parodi. 1000 Miglia Rally Program in brief
The Brescia rally will go live on Friday 26th at 17:30 with the “Valle Sabbia Dall’Era Valerio Srl” (2.54 km) broadcast live on ACI Sport TV (Canale 228 Sky), on RAI Sport (Canale 58 DTT) ) and in Facebook streaming on @acisporttv, @cirally and @ rally1000miglia, valid only for the CIAR Sparco, whose competitors will then pass through Piazzale Arnaldo for the starting ceremony. Start on the morning of Saturday 27 from the Montichiari Service Park to play the remaining eight special stages, four to be repeated twice: “Provaglio Valsabbia” (10.00 km), the last part of which will be live streaming again and on ACI Sport TV ; “Irma” (14.45 km), “Moerna” (11.18 km) and the long “Pertiche” (26.10 km). Arrival, for everyone, will be in Piazzale Arnaldo starting from 7.00 pm on Saturday, after a scenographic reorganization under the Castle of Brescia.

All models are light and robust, very sensitive to tuning and have characteristics that enhance the driving skills and sensitivity of the pilots and reward the most skilled crews from time to time. To even more uniform the level of performance, all the cars of the Suzuki Rally Cup will have to mount the same Toyo tires in the asphalt races.
