Suspected criminal offenses The suspicions of terrorist crimes of five young men came as a shock to the residents of Vihteljärvi village – “Yes, they are known and known here”

Five local men are suspected of planning a terrorist act. At Kankaanpää, the news has been received with astonishment and, to some extent, dismay.

Vihteljärvi the door to the village shop, Wihtis, is running at a leisurely pace on Friday night. The villagers go to make small purchases and stop chatting with acquaintances.

The news that was published on Friday about the preparation of a terrorist crime being investigated in the Kankaanpää area is, of course, on the lips of the villagers. Opinions can be found, but no one wants to comment on it by name. At the top is the disbelief at how similar activities can take place in a small village.

The detainees seemed to be familiar to the villagers at least to some degree.

“Yes they are known and known here in the village. They live in their own circumstances, ”comments the man, who remains anonymous.

“At the top comes to mind the question of what exactly has been sought with all this and what they have really planned,” the man continues.

The young man who spends time in the store admits that he knows at least one of the imprisoned people who has lived in Vihteljärvi, Kankaanpää. The man himself was present to witness the police operation.

“Yes, it was a bit of a wonder when there were a lot of cops on that village track. There was also a dark armored car and a police officer dressed in black overalls. ”

Village shopkeepers Teuvo and Taina Roskala know at least some of the prisoners. “They haven’t caused any problems with the deal.”

As a village merchant acting, chairman of the Vihteljärvi village association Teuvo Roskala is puzzled about what happened.

“Absolutely surprising when you live in a birdhouse like this. This is a quiet and peaceful village, ”says Roskala.

Roskala also knows at least some of the prisoners.

“Yes, they have done business, but they have not stood out from the rest of the customer base. They have made their purchases and there have never been any problems with them. We know where the boys live, but this fall they have barely been seen in the store. Maybe once throughout the fall. ”

According to Roskala, the activities now revealed are not acceptable.

“According to the law, you have to be and live. Even so, they think about where this world is going and why it is. ”

At the end of the fabric Friday’s news of serious suspicions of terrorism has been received with astonishment and, to some extent, dismay.

“From the headlines, I watched what happened, but there has been no talk here. The staff didn’t know anything and that means the customers haven’t talked about it either. It’s special that no rumor mill has rotated around Cittar’s corners, even though the police blow was already on Tuesday. It is a miracle, because information usually flows quickly, ”says Kankaanpää Citymarket merchant Kimmo Jääskeläinen says.

In many of the stone-foot shops along the market square, nothing had been heard about the number one topic in the national news.

“The news came from behind the tree. None of the customers have said anything, ”says the optician opposite the market Jukka Kangasniemi says.

Even on Thursday, a traditionally busy market day, there were no hesitations about the armored vehicles used by the police on Tuesday and the attack by the authorities.

Member of Parliament Heidi Viljanen (sd) heard about a strange week in the parliament building of his hometown of just under 13,000 inhabitants. Friday’s news in particular was confusing.

“I read the news on the construction site and I also received calls from it to see if such a thing had happened,” Viljanen is amazed.

Satakunnan the criminal titles of the custody trial in district court on Friday are harsh. The preparation of a crime for terrorist purposes and the intentional explosive offense for terrorist purposes do not often appear on district court lists.

“The protection police have warned about such things, but it is special that this is happening in North Satakunta. At least the idea arises that you never know where and when what is being planned, ”says Viljanen.

“This is stagnant news. It is known that the Protection Police monitors and does work in the background, where certain people are monitored, ”says Viljanen.

One of the detainees in the custody trial is from Jämijärvi. Mayor Markus Ojakoski was surprised by what happened this week.

“Of course, this is not a nice thing. No such background has been known that such a thing was known, ”says Ojakoski.
