A majority of those not vaccinated against Corona in Germany want to keep their status, according to a survey. Your stated reasons for this are varied.
Berlin – Despite “2G” (access only for vaccinated and convalescent people) and the elimination of the free corona tests: the vast majority of people who have not yet had a corona vaccination in Germany do not want to be vaccinated in the near future. 65 percent of those who have not been vaccinated have no plans to do so in the next eight weeks, as a Forsa survey published online this week on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health shows.
23 percent tend to say no – so a total of almost nine out of ten non-vaccinated people do not want to be vaccinated anytime soon. Only five percent definitely or more likely plan to get vaccinated in the next two months. Seven percent are still undecided. That Editorial network Germany (RND) reported about it first. The nationwide 7-day incidence has meanwhile increased significantly – to almost 150.
Corona vaccination quota: respondents see “pretext for state control”
According to the survey, 69 percent of the unvaccinated “fully” or more likely share the view that Corona is a pretext for more state control. 80 percent consider the encroachments on fundamental rights to be more serious than the danger posed by the virus. 89 percent share the view that the media report on Corona unilaterally.
When asked why they have not yet been vaccinated, 34 percent said they did not consider the available vaccines to be adequately tested. The following are the reasons for fear of side effects (18 percent), wanting to act at their own discretion and rejecting compulsory vaccination (16 percent) or doubting the safety of the vaccines (15 percent).
Forsa survey in Germany: 34 percent doubt corona vaccines
If they can choose for various possible reasons, 89 percent fully or more strongly share the view that the vaccines are not adequately tested. 84 percent think the pressure is too great and they want to decide for themselves. 81 percent justify their decision not to have been vaccinated so far, also with the fact that the government does not speak honestly about Corona. 52 percent think a corona infection would not be dangerous for them. Only three percent say that they haven’t gotten around to it yet.
Survey on willingness to vaccinate: “2G rule” probably exacerbates the situation
29 percent of the non-vaccinated state that their willingness to vaccinate would decrease if the non-vaccinated were met with an even stronger social rejection. For 27 percent, this would apply if the 2G rule were introduced everywhere in the leisure sector instead of the 3G rule – i.e. access for vaccinated and convalescent people, but not for those who have been tested. 21 percent would be even less vaccinated if 3G were compulsory in the workplace.
The vaccination rates are particularly low in the following federal states:
- Saxony (56.5 percent fully vaccinated)
- Brandenburg (60.3 percent)
- Thuringia (60.4 percent)
- Bavaria (64.3 percent)
The survey took place from September 29 to October 10, 2021. A total of 3048 people aged 14 and over were surveyed who had not yet taken advantage of the corona vaccination.
In Germany, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), 66.5 percent of the total population are fully vaccinated. The RKI assumes, however, that among adults, probably more people are vaccinated than the registration data suggest. (dpa / frs)
