The Italian-driven Itas beats a tough Verona in the first championship. Only a few minutes on the pitch for Michieletto, kept at rest by Lorenzetti.
Trento-Verona 3-0 (25-16, 29-27, 25-23)
–
The Adige derby smiles at Itas Trentino, which in three sets takes on the all yellow and blue challenge with the Verona Volley padded with ex. Lorenzetti’s renewed team takes home the first three points of the season thanks to a solid and concrete test, both in the first set won easily and in the following decidedly more balanced partial sets. Sets in which Trento has been able to be more cynical and less foul than a Verona that is still too discontinuous, Itas who, with Michieletto on the field only part time, relies on the newfound Matey Kaziyski, on a positive Sbertoli in directing and Lisinac in the center. Great debut in SuperLega, in the Scala ranks of a Mozic that showed excellent numbers. At the start, the Trentino club rewards Raphael, formerly on duty, for the first time as an opponent of Trentino Volley at the Blm Group Arena, while Alessandro Michieletto receives the Badiali award as the best Under 23 in the League.
The match
–
Sextets with Michieletto on the bench and space on the diagonal Kaziyski-Lavia while Stoytchev, much applauded, bets on the young 4-seat Mozic and Asparuhov with Spirito in the control room. The Bulgarian coach stops the game at 7-4 after a break signed by Jensen’s error and Kaziyski’s block. Break that with Lisinac on the block and above all Kaziyski on serve becomes wider (10-4 with three practically consecutive Matey aces), Pinali warms his arm and puts down the 14-6 which forces Stoytchev to spend even the last time- discretionary out. Mozic revives the Scaligeri that Sbertoli, on the wall right on the Slovenian, keeps a safe distance (16-10), before Cortesia does not block Kaziyski for 18-13. Verona relies heavily on a positive Madsen (21-15), in the final set, however, decidedly more foul Scaligeri and for Itas to seal the partial is an easy game. Balanced start of the second set (7-7), delight and cross for Trento while Verona has to limit errors to keep up with the hosts (11-11) but find good solutions in attack. Sbertoli begins to involve his own power stations more and more, Podrascanin puts the 15-13 on the ground and Stoytchev blocks everything. On 18-14 Stoytchev protests which also earned him a yellow card, who would have asked for a video check from the second referee, not being heard by the latter, however. Lavia’s mani-out seals the 20-16 for Trento, but the usual Mozic keeps Verona in the wake (21-19) in the final inside Michieletto who misses the lob that gives the 22-22 to the Scala family. Nice intense final set with Asparuhov who capitalizes on a replay to the maximum and puts down 23-24 for the Venetians, Lorenzetti stops the game and Lavia sends everyone to the advantages. Where Mozic and Lisinac battle each other and keep the contest in balance, then broken in favor of Trento by Kaziyski’s fourth personal ace and by the happy intuition of Lorenzetti. Who, taking advantage of the free and continuous changes for the Under 23s, inserts Michieletto again but in place of Pinali and moving Kaziyski to do the opposite for a few rotations. In the third set inside Magalini diagonally to Mozic in place-4 and after a few exchanges Qafarena for Madsen: 6-6 with a Cortesia wall on Lavia. Trento breaks the balance and takes a break ahead (12-10), inside Raphael for Spirito and the Scaligeri remain hooked to the Dolomites (15-15). Podrascanin’s one-two attack and block makes Itas catch his breath (17-15), a mini margin nullified by Kaziyski’s attack on the net that re-establishes parity. In the final pull Lavia finds the diagonal that is worth the success in three sets.
