The Lombards overwhelm Ngapeth and his companions. Piacenza risks the comeback of Ravenna, Perugia crashes Cisterna. Taranto-Vibo in progress
Piacenza-Ravenna 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 27-25)

Same opponent, identical result. Last year the Gas Sales Bluenergy began the adventure in Superlega by winning three points with Ravenna, after twelve months the red and white are repeated with the same score. Bernardi’s team gains the double advantage without major problems, undergoes the return of the guests who dominate the third set then returns to the straight path and closes 3-1 despite a thrilling fourth set final. Recine does not discount his former team, he is the first to shine together with an excellent Scanferla. In general Piacenza starts much better, is very attentive in defense and in the middle of the fraction finds the break with Rossard on the serve, earning a gap that widens with the passing of the exchanges up to a calm 25-17 thanks to an unleashed Lagumdzija author of 9 points. Zanini follows from the sidelines, with Giombini as official coach, and asks Klapwijk to drag his teammates. The Romagna players start better in the second fraction, then hit the Lagumdzija wall and in an amen lose the minimum accumulated advantage. And when the hosts are dictating the pace for the guests, there is very little to do. Brizard makes it clear why the French Olympic gold started from his hands, so the wall of the premises becomes the protagonist, making everything simple at Gas Sales Bluenergy. At least so it seems, because at the change of field the Romagna raise the level, taking advantage of the attacks of Vukasinovic and Klapwijk and the entry of an inspired Ljaftov. The parties are reversed, the guests remain always playing the role of the hare and the hosts manage only to approach without ever reaching their opponents. At Piacenza there is a bit of fear at the start of the fourth set, when Giombini’s team has every intention of continuing on the path of the third set. Then Holt and Recine overturn the fraction in attack, Rossard is very attentive in defense and then signs the break with the service up to 16-10 that gives Piacenza a final that seems without much trouble. Instead the service allows Ravenna to go back and the guests draw at 23 with a mistake by Recine. It continues point by point until the final point of Brizard which is worth 27-25.
Monza-Modena 3-1 (24-26, 25-23, 26-28, 25-20)

Surprise at the Monza Arena, with Eccheli’s team beats Modena 3-1. Beretta and his teammates play an excellent match in reception and on the block, making great use of Grozer (Mvp at the end) and above all the game in the center, with Grozdanov (surprise of the evening) and above all Galassi protagonists. For Modena, difficulties in reception and attacks by Leal and N’Gapeth that go in flashes. When Nimir, who had a good start, goes down, the light goes out due to Giani’s team who cannot find important breaks. There is Grozer, for Eccheli, after a pre-season at rest. The German starts diagonally with Orduna, with Beretta-Galassi in the center, Dzavoronok-Davyskiba in the band and Gaggini free, with Federici still standing but close to returning. Already full, with Bruno-Abdel-Aziz diagonally, Earvin N’Gapeth and Leal spikers, Mazzone and Stankovic central and Rossini free. The balance at the start breaks Modena, which from 7-7 finds itself 9-15, with two blocks by Stankovic and the first mistakes, both in attack and in serving, in Monza. The answer comes with Dzavoronok from 9 meters: there are 2 aces when the Brianza players returned 15-16. Teams arm in arm what a show that lights up. Local ahead (20-19) on Grozer’s wall on N’Gapeth, but still errors from 9 meters (they will be 7 at the end) put the guests back. On the third attempt Bruno’s wall closes for 24-26. Teams arm in arm also in the second fraction, with the Monza beating rising and Abdel-Aziz keeping his team up with discontinuous Leal. On 17 even Eccheli finds a point on the video check that opens the first extension of Monza (21-17). Modena’s response with Stankovic (block and attack), and again Abdel-Aziz (attack and block) for 22-23. The end, however, is signed by Grozer who with a series in attack, on the block and with two aces closes the set (25-23) and draws the score. The theme of the race does not change, with Grozdanov for Beretta at Monza, very aggressive in batting and Modena suffering in reception and allowing the home wall to position itself. At 19-20, two local mistakes, but Grozer (6 points) and Galassi (5) drag their teammates. Two consecutive walls by Grozdanov (on Abdel-Aziz and N’Gapeth) make Monza fly (24-22), and to the advantages the wall of the same Galassi and the error of the Dutch opposite (in decline) of Modena give the 28- 26 and 2-1. Monza more and more in rhythm, with Grozdanov starting the fourth fraction in a great way (4 points in the initial 9-5). Modena is unable to go back up because N’Gapeth and Leal go in bursts, but above all the reception does not work. Contrary to the opponents, with Orduna inspired. Monza, ahead 18-12, controls without excessive worries and closes 25-20 with the error of Abdel-Aziz in serving.
Perugia-Cisterna 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-23)

The season in Perugia starts with a great victory, which at Palabarton easily overcame Cisterna in three sets. Too much is the technical gap between the two teams shown in this season debut in Superlega. At the beginning Nikola Grbic lined up Giannelli in the direction and Rychlicki opposite, Mengozzi and Solè in the center, Leon and Anderson spikers, with Colaci free. On the other hand Fabio Soli (with only 11 players available) presented Baranowicz as director, opposite Szwarc, central Bossi and Zingel, Maar and Rinaldi spikers, Cavaccini free. In truth, however, in the first set, Sir Safety also had to suffer, given that the Lazio (dragged by the 9 points of Szwarc) went forward point by point and to make the difference on the score was Plotnitsky, who was thrown into the fray on the 21-20 and with two consecutive aces he led Perugia to 23-20, creating the conditions to win the set (25-22), which was then closed with Anderson’s attack. Perugia’s task in the second fraction was easier, lengthening from the start and forcing Cisterna to chase constantly without being able to get close. To close the fraction (25-18) was Rychlicki, putting down his twelfth point from the start of the race. In the third set Perugia started with the brake on, but thanks to the punctual direction of Giannelli and a Leon (best scorer of the Sir with 12 points) at times pungent has progressively stretched and for Cisterna everything has become more difficult. Even if Soli’s team tried to stay in the game with the usual Szwarc (17 total points for him with 48% in attack) and in the final attempted a comeback, returning up to 23-22, only to collapse. To close the match (25-23) in favor of Sir Safety (in the final on the field also the recovered Ricci) was the error in the serve by Raffaelli. For Perugia a confirmation is now expected on Sunday in Verona, while Cisterna will receive Padua on Saturday evening.
