Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has one exit date official: the film dedicated to the famous DC heroine will make its debut in cinemas on 26 June 2026, exactly one year after the release of Superman.
As we know, James Gunn chose Milly Alcock to play Supergirl, but beyond that details about the film are few: Craig Gillespie (Tonya) will be directing, while the screenplay will be written by Ana Nogueira.
Curiously, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is the only film in the new DC cinematic universe to have a release date, in addition to the aforementioned Superman, but There are numerous projects already in the pipeline and distributed within different “chapters”.
Based on a comic story
The narrative foundations of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be laid the saga of the same name written by Tom Kingin which we find a new version of Kara Zor-El, desperately searching for a purpose and meaning to give to her existence.
James Gunn himself, in presenting the film, revealed that he will tell the story of an absolutely new Supergirl in the eyes of the general publica character much more “hardcore” than we are used to imagining him.
