Millie Alcock was chosen by James Gunn to play the role of Supergirl in the film Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and, in general, in the new cinematic universe dedicated to the DC heroes.
Known to the general public for starring in the series House of the Dragons As Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Alcock will be tasked with bringing Superman's iconic cousin Kara Zor-El back to the big screen.
Unlike the Supergirl by Sasha Calle that we talked about in the review of The Flash, what we will find in theaters will be Tom King's version of the character, very different from what has been represented so far.

A more determined Supergirl
At the time of the announcement of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, James Gunn explained that the film will be based on Tom King's miniseries of the same namewhich introduces some variations in the character's origins.
Unlike her cousin Kal-El, in fact, Kara lived on a fragment of Krypton for her first fourteen years, watching all the people she knew die and landing on Earth as a teenager.
