Puccetti, Gerloff’s coup
Garrett Gerloff turns a page in his career. The American rider will race for Team Puccetti in 2025 and will therefore ride the Kawasaki ZX-10RR after the Bonovo BMW team announced its farewell to Superbike at the end of the season.
Of his five seasons in Superbike, Gerloff spent the first three years with GRT Yamaha (scoring six podiums) and the next two years with BMW: in 2023 he was the best rider for the Bavarian manufacturer despite never reaching the top-3. In 2025 he will ride this year’s ZX-10RR in a ‘Factory’ Kawasaki team (Bimota by KRT will be the Factory team). Puccetti will field only one bike, so Tito Rabat will have to find another destination.
Puccetti’s words
“On behalf of myself and my team, as well as my sponsors and my family, I would like to express how much this represents an honor and a privilege for us.“, commented the owner Manuel Puccetti.
“Since my early days in racing I have always appreciated the elements that make a rider or a team successful. I started racing on a 125 in an Italian Cup race in the late 90s and in 2002 I took the difficult step of becoming a team owner. I started with just a truck, a few motorcycles and a loyal group of sponsors. From that starting out we have worked and worked to become what we are now; a team that can boast World, European and National Championships under our belt and a winning record that includes over 120 podiums. In 2025, we will be fielding the current KRT Ninja ZX-10RR bikes and I can only say that for me this is a dream come true. Rest assured that we will do our best to satisfy the ambitions of Ninja fans around the world in the next season. We are truly honored.”
