Sultan bin Shakhbut praises the success of the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival

Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Sultan bin Shakhbut Al Nahyan, President of the Asian Chess Federation and Chairman of Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club, praised the outstanding success of the 30th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival, with the participation of more than 2,500 male and female players representing 82 countries, including a group of world champions, and a record participation of 333 national players.
He appreciated the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, for the festival in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and praised the distinguished organizational efforts of the Abu Dhabi Chess and Mind Games Club, headed by Hussein Abdullah Al Khouri, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors.
Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Sultan bin Shakhbut Al Nahyan praised the holding of the Centennial Torch Relay of the International Chess Federation at the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, where His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan carried the torch at the beginning of the celebration, in the presence of Arkady Dvorkovich, President of the International Chess Federation.
Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbut Al Nahyan stressed that the festival’s arrival at this stage of success in its extended journey is a culmination of the unlimited support and attention of the wise leadership for sports and athletes, the follow-up of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the efforts of the club’s board of directors and executive, technical and administrative bodies.
