Sudan is currently witnessing many political initiatives to resolve the crisis amid a process of political and societal blockage, in parallel with the deep economic crisis, demonstrations roaming the country, and the withdrawal of army leaders from dialogue with civilians led by the joint tripartite mechanism of the United Nations, the African Union and the African Intergovernmental Development Organization (IGAD). .
Despite the failure of some of these initiatives, the most recent of which was “People of Sudan” by the good Sufi leader, the grandfather in charge of the fatwa department in the Islamic Fiqh Academy to complete the transitional period, a new initiative was proposed by a Sufi method famous for its religious and political weight by the famous Sufi leader known as “Sheikh Al-Jaali” in the region. “Kedbas” in the north of the country, and aims to unify the civil opposition in order to end the recent events and establish a democratic civil authority that will bring the country out of its comprehensive crisis that has been going on for nearly a year.
Among the initiatives of “Al-Tayyib and Al-Jaali”, Sufism intervened with its weight to solve the crisis, especially the “Qadiriyya method” spread in large parts of the country and which has enjoyed great weight since the beginning of the 19th century, which raised questions about the possibility of Sufi orders solving the Sudanese crisis and its ability to reach a formula of consensus. between the civil powers. The Sudanese researcher at the University of Khartoum, Asmahan Ismail, explained that the Al-Jaali initiative was aimed at uniting the forces of the revolution, including a gathering of professionals, resistance committees, the Central Council for Freedom and Change group, and the Radical Change Group under the auspices of the Communist Party, families of martyrs and Sufi clerics supporting the revolution, in order to overthrow the procedures of military rule and form Full civil rule.
Asmahan told Al-Ittihad: The initiative did not last long, as the Communist Party rejected it and refused to sit with the group that participated in the military regime in power, and thus the initiative was nipped in its cradle. On the one hand, the initiative of Sheikh Al-Tayyib Al-Jedda, which represented large groups of the people, was rejected by the forces of the revolution, and the international community did not show any enthusiasm towards it, even though it was almost comprehensive.
Asmahan added, “The two Sufi initiatives were formed as a result of the obstruction of the political horizon in Sudan, and that the Kedbas initiative supports the forces of the revolution and seeks to unify them in one bloc, while the grandfather’s initiative was broader and included a settlement with everyone without segregation, and the movements of the Sufi path initiatives could have led to reconciliation Comprehensive between all parties in the event that the two initiatives fail and a concession is made by all parties for the sake of the country’s interest.
According to the “Al-Jaali” initiative, the “Kidbass” region witnessed the “forces of the revolution” agreement on unity through a continuous process with different mechanisms and stages to achieve the goals that contributed to the December 2018 revolution in order to unify the revolutionary action. Asmahan stressed that if the officials of the two Sufi initiatives do not agree, each side will reject the other, and the Sufi initiatives will go unheeded, and in the end there will be no comprehensive consensus and no solution to Sudan’s problems.
