Munich – A German vacationer caused a stir with an angry Facebook post. The trigger for her contribution was a disturbing visit to an Italian restaurant. The tourist reported a live animal that was on display in the restaurant. “Heartless, not to mention the standard,” she complains. She described how the animal was intended to entertain guests without regard to its welfare.
“Humiliating”: Vacationer in Italy describes lobster sitting on dead fish
The vacationer attached several videos to her post. It shows a lobster sitting on dead fish. In the post, the holidaymaker sharply criticized the restaurant’s moral and ethical attitude. “It was not only cruel but also degrading,” she writes. “The animal sits on the dead fish for hours and waits for its own death!” Another holidaymaker in Italy was outraged by a service charge in the restaurant.
The author of the post goes on to explain that she even tried to buy the animal. She offered the restaurant 50 euros to save the helpless lobster. But the restaurant refused to sell it – she had to go to a fish shop. As a restaurant it is only possible to sell animals fully prepared.

The Italian vacationer received approval in the comment column: “It sucks,” wrote one. Another user thinks: “It’s so sad what you experience on vacation; I know this powerless feeling very well. Carefree holiday joy is not intended for empathetic people.” Recently, a family in Italy caused a stir because they left the restaurant without paying the bill.
