The epicenter was located about 13.1 kilometers east-southeast of Azángaro, in the Puno region, and 30.3 kilometers west of Ayaviri, also in Puno, according to the USGS.

The National Seismological Center of Peru, for its part, reported on its Twitter account that the earthquake occurred around 7:02 am (local time) at a depth of 240 km with a magnitude of 6.9. She located him 20 kilometers from Ayaviri.

Peru’s National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) wrote on its official Twitter account that the earthquake felt “between moderate and strong by the population”,
