Mazayna Rutb Al-Shishi and the local and varied lemon competitions, at the 17th Liwa Date Festival, witnessed distinguished participations and strong competitions among the participants, and farmers and home gardeners began arriving at the festival site from 8 am to 3 pm, after which the jury committees began their tasks to evaluate the participations in preparation for the announcement of the First place winners.
The organizing committee of the 17th Liwa Date Festival announced the names of the winners of the Rutb Al-Dabbas competition, which resulted in the first place going to Saif Sayah Salem Tammash Al-Mansoori, second place to Mualla Ali Murshid Khamis Al-Marar, third place to Saria Amer Jadeed Al Mansouri, and fourth place to Moza Muhammad Afsan Al Mazrouei, fifth place to Hamad Ali Murshid Khamis Al Marar, sixth place to Obaid Ali Murshid Khamis Al Marar, seventh place to Salham Harmous Saeed Saleh Al Mazrouei, eighth place to Ahmed Muhammad Ali Murshid Khamis Al Marar, and ninth place to Fatima Muhammad Saeed Salem Al Marar, And the tenth place goes to Maryam Salman Muhammad Al Mazrouei.
The organizing committee of the festival has allocated 25 prizes for the rubb al-dabbas, worth 446 thousand dirhams, where the winner of the first place will receive an amount of 100,000 dirhams, and the second place will be 75,000 dirhams, and the third will be 40,000 dirhams, and the prizes are distributed to reach the fifteenth place.
This morning, the house fruit basket competitions, red and yellow figs, will be launched, as part of the 17th Liwa Date Festival, where the participation of participants will be received from 8 in the morning until 3 in the evening.
The festival’s organizing committee allocated 3 valuable prizes to the winners of the first places in the House Fruits Basket competition, with a total value of 400,000 dirhams (200 thousand dirhams for the first place, 120,000 dirhams for the second place, 80 thousand dirhams for the third place).
10 prizes worth 117,000 dirhams were allocated for the red fig competition, and 10 prizes worth 117,000 dirhams for the yellow fig competition, where the first place winner in each competition will receive a cash prize of 25,000 dirhams, second place 20,000 dirhams, and third place 15,000 dirhams. The centers are distributed up to the tenth place.
Abu Dhabi Food Safety: Development of palm cultivation and date production
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, as a strategic supporter, is participating in the 17th Liwa Date Festival, whose competitions will continue until July 25, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, in the city of Liwa in the Al Dhafra region.
Mubarak Al-Qusayli Al-Mansoori, Executive Director of the Agricultural Affairs Sector at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, said: The authority is keen to support and develop the dates industry in the UAE in general and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular, as the authority adopts a package of plans and programs aimed at developing palm cultivation and date production in addition to encouraging farmers To cultivate the feasible and required types of fruit and citrus trees and increase the percentage of their contribution to local production, especially after they have proven their success in various parts of the emirate. The authority is also keen to provide the necessary technical advice and guidance services to farmers and build their capabilities, in addition to enhancing the efficiency of agricultural support and development programs to achieve sustainability and enhance the effectiveness of the agricultural system Biosecurity to prevent diseases and pests.
On the other hand, he explained that farmers are always recommended on the importance of preserving water resources and educating them on the need to rationalize water consumption and follow the best agricultural systems and practices in irrigating crops to reduce water waste and groundwater depletion, stressing the authority’s keenness to provide integrated services to take care of palm farms and improve production quality. And controlling pests that threaten palm trees in safe environmental ways.
He added that the authority is participating in the festival this year by organizing virtual awareness lectures on palm cultivation, fruits and citrus, how to take care of them and introducing them to the best practices followed in this regard, in addition to introducing the authority’s efforts to control palm pests and implementing integrated management programs for pest control in safe environmental ways and responding to Public inquiries regarding all matters of agriculture, livestock and biosecurity.

Al Dhafra Municipality is participating in the Liwa Date Festival 2021. The Municipality of Al Dhafra region is preparing the infrastructure for the festival site by providing cosmetic implants, in addition to maintaining the cleanliness of the festival site in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Center for Waste Management – Tadweer, and removing all waste during and after the festival to maintain appearance General of the city of Liwa.
