Hamburg – Bad prospects for those who refuse masks: Since Friday, the tightened mask requirement in the Corona lockdown has been in effect in Hamburg. The Hamburg Senate has now insisted on compliance with the new regulation. Among other things, school senator Ties Rabe (SPD) announced a crackdown on rule breakers. If, for example, the measure is disregarded in school playgrounds, school administrators are likely to pronounce house bans and expel the rule breakers from the site, his authority announced via Twitter. “Anyone who misses lessons because of this, commits a violation of compulsory education and has to expect a fine,” it said.
Hamburg is one of the first federal states to implement the lockdown extension decided on Tuesday by the federal and state governments in concrete measures. In the Hanseatic city, it is now mandatory to wear high-quality FFP2 or surgical masks when shopping and when traveling on buses and trains. Violations should henceforth be controlled more intensively*, like the Hamburg news portal 24hamburg.de reported. *24hamburg.de is part of the Ippen-Digital network
