The protagonist Jack Garland listens to some healthy ‘butt rock’.
These days Square Enix has released a new demo of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, on the occasion of the announcement of the release date of the game, scheduled for spring 2022. This new trial version offers new content compared to the one made available this summer, including some new cutscenes of the protagonists.
One in particular rose to prominence for hitting players, for a rather curious reason: in the Neon scene, one of the party members tells some details about his story. Kindly, the protagonist Jack reacts by considering them all “nonsense” and walks away: but not before having extracted his cell phone from his pockets (yes, cell phone) and started playing a “butt-rock” song in the style of Limp Bizkit cover band. A moment of rare embarrassment, which is well explained in many clips that are running on the net.

It could be one of the most trashy moments that the history of the medium can remember, which mimics some scenes from titles like DMC: Devil May Cry. Fortunately, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin it seems to be much more than that, promising an unreleased action experience in the Final Fantasy series but with the possibility of being fun and fulfilling.
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will be available from March 18, 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X / S. The new demo is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S until 11 October.
