Stick-on activists: climate protectors want to block several airports

An several airports in Germany, climate activists glued themselves to access roads on Wednesday. At Munich Airport, the police counted five activists from the group “Uprising of the Last Generation”. They used it to block an access road to the cargo area at a zebra crossing on Wednesday morning, a reporter on site observed. However, the traffic disruptions were limited. After a backlog initially formed, the trucks apparently found an alternative route. The police took personal details on the spot.

At Frankfurt Airport, activists from the “Last Generation” initiative also protested against food waste and for a more consistent climate policy. According to this, six activists blocked an access road to the cargo area in Frankfurt. They held up banners that read “Save Food, Save Lives.” According to the “last generation”, another protest action was prevented by the police. A police spokesman said there were actions around Frankfurt Airport, for example on the feeder roads and intersections. “This causes traffic delays.”

There were similar disruptive actions at the airports in Berlin and Hamburg. “With their actions, the last generation demands the implementation of the measures of the representative climate council and an immediate food-saving law,” the activists explained.
