(Reuters) – Elon Musk, chief executive of Tesla Inc, will be the subject of a biography of Walter Isaacson, an American author who wrote a best-seller on Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple.
“If you’re curious about Tesla, SpaceX and my activities in general, @WalterIsaacson is writing a biography,” Musk tweeted on Wednesday night.
In response to a question on a social network, Musk said Isaacson had already followed him for several days to gather material for the book.
Isaacson compared Musk to Jobs in an interview with Yahoo Finance a few months ago, saying that “in some ways, he is the Steve Jobs of our time.”
Isaacson is also the author of books on Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein, the latter made into the television series “Genius”.
Musk had already granted interviews for a biography of Ashlee Vance that was published in 2015, before Tesla became the world’s most valuable vehicle maker and before SpaceX became the first private company to put humans into orbit.
In another response to a Twitter user who asked if the publishing deal means Musk will no longer write his own book, he replied, “Maybe one day.”
“Finally…someone will penetrate the silent, mysterious, inscrutable facade that that particular guy protects…;)”, tweeted another user, to which Musk responded with a giggling emoji.
