Shuhei Yoshidahistoric figure in the PlayStation world and currently Head of PlayStation Indies, i.e. the person responsible for relations between the platform and independent developers, went to visit the studios of Shift Upthe developer who is working on Stellar Bladean action game released on April 26, 2024 exclusively on PS5.
This is a significant meeting, which demonstrates how much PlayStation is focusing on the title to fill this period, also considering the positive reactions received from the public to the official demo, published on the PlayStation Store a few days ago.
As ritual dictates, Yoshida had himself photographed with Mr. and Mrs. Kimthe couple at the head of the studio, as you can see in the post about X below.
Also interesting that he mentioned Nikke in the text, a very successful mobile title by Shift Up, with millions of downloads and very high revenues.
According to some observers, Yoshida's presence in Shift Up could be a sign of Sony's interest in aacquisition. It's difficult to say for sure, but it's true that the Korean team is decidedly prolific and would greatly enhance PlayStation in the mobile sector, also guaranteeing it games for its consoles.
Of course it is fair to say that we are in the realm of pure speculation and that there is really nothing confirmed. Yoshida's visit could simply be a courtesy visit, aimed at celebrating the launch of a highly anticipated game for PS5, which not surprisingly went into sale that very day. Gold phasethat is, the version that we will find when it launches in stores has been closed and sent to the press, net of last minute updates.
