Stef Burns defends Imane Khelif: the dig at Maddalena Corvaglia
Stef Burns, the showgirl’s ex-husband, also intervenes in the Maddalena Corvaglia-Imane Khelif case in what many believe to be a real dig at his ex-wife.
The American guitarist, in fact, published among his stories profile Instagram a video from a foreign TV station defending the Algerian boxer, accused by many, including Corvaglia herself, of being a man.
In the video from The Daily Show, re-shared by Vasco Rossi’s guitarist, it is stated: “She was born a woman, lives like a woman and boxes with other women. What is the real argument against her?”
Thesis strongly supported by the former Velina of Striscia la Notizia on several occasions. The showgirl in fact posted a video on social media in which she stated: “If a man who identifies as a woman has the right to fight at the Olympics against a woman, then a child who identifies as an adult has the right to drive a car and buy alcoholic beverages?”.
Despite the controversy and criticism of those who pointed out that Imane Khelif is a woman in all respects, Maddalena Corvaglia later returned to the subject in a new video in which she declared: “I think that Imane Khelif is the victim of a system that has used her to transform a healthy, inclusive and respectful and peaceful sporting event into a dystopian circus, full of hate and bad taste that has splashed the front page and dissected the life of a poor athlete who only deserved to be remembered at the 2024 Paris Olympics for his athletic performance, not for his gender, chromosome, or sexual orientation.”
And again: “There is so much pain in the journey of a person who decides to change gender and sex that sensationalizing and overexposing their life as was done with this boxer is vulture-like.”
Not content, Maddalena Corvaglia returned to the subject again, replying to those who asked her to inform herself before speaking: “The International Boxing Association (IBA) held a press conference in which it explained how the results of the blood tests of Khelif and Lin Yu-ting incontrovertibly prove that these boxers are biologically men”.
“No rare syndrome that has affected their organism as claimed by self-styled experts consulted by the media who made remote diagnoses without even having examined these two. Despite the test results, the IOC continued to authorize them to compete against biological women, claiming that both are women and rejecting the test results”.
