MIR4 violates Steam rules.
Last month Valve stated that games based on blockchain technology will no longer be allowed on Steam. According to the platform’s guidelines, all those applications “based on blockchain technology that issue or allow the exchange of cryptocurrencies or NFTs” are prohibited. Despite this, one of the top 10 most played games on Steam is MIR4, an RPG used for cryptocurrency mining.
According to what Valve has stated, MIR4 would be among those banned games on the platform, but the game is currently still online and available for users. Since launching on Steam in August, MIR4 has been increasing its player count month by month. Among other things, the game does not even hide its true nature.
There are several reviews describing it as it is, which is a pure cryptocurrency mining operation put in the form of a game. It’s still unclear why MIR4 is still on Steam despite clearly violating the platform’s guidelines.
As of now, Valve hasn’t made any statements yet. Stay tuned with us for more information about it.
