The event will be held next week.
Yesterday Sony unexpectedly announced the arrival of a new event State of Play, which will be held on Wednesday 27 October at 11pm Italian time. The stream will be dedicated to third-party games coming to PlayStation consoles in the coming months (so don’t expect Kratos or Aloy).
Nothing of the actual contents has been officially revealed, however some leaks that begin to circulate confirm very important present, starting with the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XVI, one of the big absentees at the Tokyo Game Show 2021.

This rumor circulates thanks to some comments on ResetEra, in which we can observe how Sony is working on the PlayStation Store page of the Square Enix title: possible that it is in view of a more full-bodied announcement, perhaps with a lot of release date?
However Final Fantasy XVI is not the only game named in the thread, which calls into question other important and expected titles, like Gotham Knights, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum and Tchia. Also possible the presence of the new chapter of The Dark Pictures Anthology, already announced, and the title The Voice of Cards.
Of course this is speculation, which inevitably begins to circulate as soon as a similar event is announced. Sony’s strategy to reveal its existence in a short time could be thought of precisely in the perspective of try to curb speculation, which too often create expectations in users that are inevitably disappointed, in most cases, also giving rise to fierce criticism.
So we just have to wait, with great interest, for the late evening of October 27th.
