Regardless of whether Starfield from Bethesda Game Studios whether or not it appearsXbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, development has progressed since its postponement. The game director and executive producer Todd Howard revealed in a media briefing that the team is continuing to work on the project. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer added that Starfield will be a “hallmark” of the acquisition of ZeniMax Media.
“Starfield for me is a unique opportunity. Todd Howard has been a longtime friend and Bethesda Game Studios is working on the new IP. This will be a hallmark for us in terms of acquiring ZeniMax to work with Todd and bring this game to market.“says Spencer.
Howard also called this “an incredible opportunity”. “Players will be able to experience what we are creating and we will reach more people around the world, and in so many different ways than we’ve ever done before. “He also expressed enthusiasm for” being able to do something that truly leverages Xbox – on consoles themselves, with Series S and X, as well as knowing that anyone who will play the game can play it on PC or xCloud, or any other screen“.
“Our ability is to transport people, to take them to new worlds where they can live experiences that seem real for what they are and for the emotions they feel. We have seen this with our other franchises such as Elder Scrolls, Skyrim and Fallout. We are now working closely with Xbox to make Starfield the best experience possible“.
Originally slated for November 2022 on Xbox Series X / S and PC, Starfield has been postponed to the first half of 2023. However, a recent image from the Xbox Game Pass registration page indicates that the sci-fi RPG could launch early. of 2023, or between January and March.
