The characters introduced in the saga of Star Wars with the sequel trilogy, like Rey, Finn and Poe, may return in the future new projects for the big or small screen.
In an interview with Empire Magazine, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy said they are unforgettable characters and suggesting that “The Rise of Skywalker” may not be the end of their stories.
“They certainly aren’t characters we will forget about. They will live on and there are ongoing conversations about that with the creative team,” says Kennedy.
Indeed, there may be some interesting ideas in this regard. They could be unpublished stories set after the last film of the sequel trilogy, or explain some points left open or told so far only through comics or novels, for example how Ben Solo became the leader of the Knights of Ren or how Palpatine was cloned.
Furthermore, Rey, Finn, Poe and company could appear in unreleased TV series, given that this format is enjoying great success, just think of The Mandalorian, the series about Obi-Wan Kenobi and the awaited The Book of Boba Fett, coming on next month on Disney + and of which the first official trailer was shown a few weeks ago.
