How it will work The gameplay in space Of Star Wars Outlaws? The answer comes from the latest preview that Game Informer dedicated to the long-awaited tie-in produced by Ubisoft, also born in this case from a comparison with the creative director Julian Gerighty.
If you have read our special on the latest Star Wars Outlaws news regarding characters and gameplay, you will know that in the Massive Entertainment title it will also be possible board a spaceship and travel to new explorable planets.
Well, this part of the experience will be anything but passive; starting with the protagonist's spaceship, the Trailblazerdesigned by the developers in close collaboration with Lucasfilm Games so that it could boast the features and design elements typical of the Star Wars universe.
Space, final frontier
The planets and moons in Star Wars Outlaws will have orbits that Kay can explore aboard her ship, and once we reach the edge of these areas we'll perform a hyperspace jump to another orbit: this is the solution that Gerighty and his collaborators have chosen to adopt.
“We wanted to have an orbit around the planet with many different points of interestthings to do, battles to face, places to explore,” the creative director told Game Informer.
“So the orbits of each of the moons or planets we created had to be populated by many elements but we didn't want to create infinite space, so you go from the orbit of one planet to the orbit of another planet.”
“We wanted to make space flight as accessible, fun and action-packed as possible” said Gerighty. “The controls are extremely easy to use, there is always something to do, it travels quickly.”
“You can jump into hyperspace at any time, and then of course there's the combat: Both on a close-up and epic scale. And there's no shortage of exploration. I mean, there's really a lot of things to do in space.”
