Electronic Arts has stated that Respawn is developing “the final chapter” of the history of Star Wars Jedi. Laura Miele, president of EA Entertainment and Technology, mentioned the project during a presentation at the investor relations day.
“We’ve made some of the highest quality and best-selling Star Wars games of all time,” he said. “That impressive resume obviously includes the Star Wars Jedi games, where in addition 40 million Star Wars fans have immersed themselves in Cal Kestis and his journey to becoming a powerful Jedi. Respawn is working hard to bring players the final chapter of this emotional story.”
The third Star Wars Jedi won’t have the old director
Let us remember that Stig Asmussenthe director of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, left Respawn last year. Before leaving, Asmussen said he hoped to make a third Star Wars Jedi game because he always envisioned it as a three-game story arc.
“I always wanted to see it as a trilogy“, he told IGN USA at the time, speaking about the second game, Survivor. “How can we take Cal and the crew to new places beyond what we were doing in the first game? We had a pretty good idea of where we wanted Survivor to take place, what the stakes were, the tone of the game, what Cal was going to be up against, and how the crew would fit into that. And there are ideas of what we could do beyond that, too.”
Finally, we would like to point out that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available from today on PS4 and Xbox One.
