Overdosed characters in Star Citizen.
Star Citizen is now a title in constant development: we still have no clue about the possible release of a final version of the mammoth Cloud Imperium project, which however continues to be tested and updated in the alpha version.
The latest update launched (3.15.0) inserted a new medical weapon designed to heal comrades, which, however, is being used in a rather curious and questionable way by the players: the latter are in fact using it for literally overdose unsuspecting players, to then leave them unconscious on the ground and steal what they possess. Another problem: this can also happen in areas where PvP combat is disabled.
The bases in Star Citizen should be safe places for players to manage their inventory and their ships, without the fear of threats. However the fact that this particular weapon is meant to heal, makes it usable as a (theoretically) non-offensive tool.
With this gun it is therefore possible to point a player and “hit” him even without his consent: this would not be a problem, but in the realistic universe of Star Citizen it was not Possible to overdose for substance abuse.
Therefore, once a character consumes too many medicines, he falls to the ground unconscious: the other players can then freely move their bodies and even “strip them” of everything they wear, leaving them lifeless and literally in their underwear, as can be observed by a curious. screenshot taken fromReddit user AFloatingLantern.
Clearly this is a mechanic that has not been taken well into consideration in relation to these possible decidedly unpleasant effects, especially if exploited in a cheating way by the players. We assume that Cloud Imperium will not release the game with a flaw of this type and already the users are suggesting interesting solutions, such as inserting an option to allow or not to be healed by others.
