SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – The dollar firmed losses in the afternoon and ended this Wednesday below 5.20 reais, with investors reacting well to nods from the economic wing of the government to fiscal responsibility and still reflecting the strong response of the Brazilian authorities to anti-democratic attacks in Brasilia.
On the spot market, the dollar fell 0.40%, to 5.1813 reais on sale, renewing the low for closing since December 23 (5.1655), after the day before having retreated more than 1%.
