As you may have seen in recent days, some materials relating to Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Weba multiplayer game from Insomniac Games with elements live service which was canceled by Sonybut apparently it is the players liked it who have now also started a petition to be able to have it.
Now therefore: within the large data theft that Insomniac has suffered, and from which new things are continuing to emerge, there is also a completely new game which, it seems, will never see the light of day in complete form, titled Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Web.
It is a multiplayer game with live service elements, which allowed various players to create their own superhero with a Spider-Man-like appearance and take part in cooperative adventures within a shared New York to explore together, taking part in various missions and fighting against criminals and various bosses.
Gamers want multiplayer Spider-Man
Essentially, a multiplayer version of the classic gameplay of Marvel's Spider-Man series from Insomniac. Apparently, it should have been one of the numerous live services put in the pipeline by Sony in recent years, but like other projects this too was cancelled.
The particular thing that emerges from the stolen materials is that the title seems to be strangely “clean” despite being a work in progress, which has left an excellent impression on those who have seen the documents in question, as well as the various players who have remained favorably impressed by the idea and would now like to see the game in complete form.
For this reason, one was launched petition, which essentially asks Sony and Insomniac Games to go back to developing Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Web and launch it in complete form. Obviously this is unlikely to have any effect, given that such a decision is not easily taken and even less easily revoked, but if nothing else it demonstrates how the idea had interesting potential for many users too.
