He said that his country’s national team has strong chances to reach the furthest level in this tournament, because it includes many talented elements, combining youth and experience, and at the forefront is the team’s “captain” Ronaldo, who outdid himself in the last test match played by the “Sailors” yesterday, Tuesday, against… Ireland ended with a 3-0 victory for the Don battalion, with Ronaldo scoring two goals in ten minutes, after Joao Felix scored the first goal.
Speaking about Ronaldo, 39 years old, the Saudi Al-Nasr player, the newspaper asked him: How can a player of Ronaldo’s size and weight be managed? At this age, can he participate in all matches from beginning to end, or must he be rested in some of them, or not participate from beginning to end?
“Special One” responded, saying: I believe that Ronaldo will continue to have a very great influence despite his age, and coach Roberto Martinez must know how to manage his player, because they are the only ones who can know that.
Mourinho, the former coach of Roma, added: The coach must know how Ronaldo feels, what his goals and ambitions are, and does he play every match until the last minute? And when to protect it in some important moments.
In continuation of Mourinho’s talk about the teams nominated for the “Euro 2024” title, Mourinho said: France and England are in the lead, along with Germany, the host of the land, and the Spanish national team cannot be ignored. When he was asked about the Italian national team, the holder of the last tournament title, he said: Italy will not retain its title because it no longer has a generation. She is talented, and her chances of winning are very limited.
Mourinho hopes that his country will succeed again in winning the tournament, as it did in the 2016 edition. Indeed, confidence in him has reached the point of saying that if Portugal had two teams in this tournament, the second team would also compete and would be a candidate to win the title.
