A year without Breen
This weekend the WRC arrives in Croatia for the fourth round of the 2024 season, in a country where the Hyundai retains sad memories of what happened last year. The April 13, 2023even then preparing for the fourth world championship, the world of motorsport mourned the tragedy passing of Craig Breenwho died in Lobor following a serious accident during a test session.
The memory of Hyundai
Since then, Hyundai has remembered its late Irish driver on more than one occasion, author of seven podiums with the Alzenau team as well as winner of two editions of the Sanremo Rally. The Korean company had already announced in recent days that it wanted to organize others initiatives to pay homage to the 33-year-old, and so it was.
From livery to auction
In Croatia, Hyundai has indeed unveiled the commemorative livery present on the three i20 N of Neuville, Tänak and Mikkelsen. The cars bear the colors of Irish flagthe country in which Breen was born in 1990. Added to this is the writing 'ForCraig', visible next to the Hyundai logo positioned on the rear bumper of the car. Outside of the livery, the team also organized an auction where it will be possible to purchase the helmets of Neuville and Tänak, as well as Dani Sordo's racing suit from last year. The proceeds will be allocated to Craig Breen Foundationa foundation created to support young drivers in their respective careers.
