The court recalls in its sentence that of the prison sentences imposed, the maximum effective compliance will be 40 yearsafter applying the verdict issued last July by a popular jury and setting compensation for a total of 640,000 euros in favor of the victims or their families.
The sentences imposed on this 40-year-old Colombian include a conviction for a crime against public health, since he offered cocaine on his dates with the victims, and for others against sexual freedom, with the aggravating circumstance of gender discrimination.

On the contrary, he is acquitted of a crime against moral integrity of which he had been accused, but he will have to pay the relatives of the three murdered women and seven women who survived sexual encounters with him amounts ranging from 75,000 to 50,000 euros.
The jury’s ruling determined that by making the body of the young Marta Calvo disappear, which has not yet been found, it tried to hide the causes of death, which have remained undetermined, with greater pain for the family.
The jury opposed possible benefits of reducing the sentence imposed by the Justice or requesting a pardon from the Spanish Government, after five days of deliberations after a month-long trial.
Palma, who has been in provisional prison since the end of 2019, when he confessed to having dismembered Marta Calvo’s body, was accused of having ended the lives of women in the course of sexual practices with cocaine and probably other substances.
The Prosecutor’s Office had requested sentences that add up to 120 years in prison and the private accusations demanded a reviewable permanent prison, the maximum sentence in Spain.
