Over 300,000 people tried to apply for the voucher. Cna estimates that the funds can trigger a turnover of over 200 million euros
In just four hours, the Spa Bonus ran out, despite some initial uncertainty of the Invitalia platform, due to excessive crowding by over 300,000 people who tried to request the bonus directly (the request could only be made through the spa, as by decree). Federterme Confindustria makes it known in a note.
The measure, strongly desired by Federterme and launched in record time by Mise, points out Federterme, «has shown all its validity, even in replacement of measures such as refreshments and holiday vouchers. The appropriation is obtaining a series of effects of great impact on several fronts: it has relaunched a sector that in Italy has a great tradition but has been stagnating for some time, it has attracted new masses of citizens to the Italian spas, it has created an effect multiplier for tourism in the thermal areas equal to at least 6 times the investment of the state. The search for treatments, prevention, rehabilitation and well-being is today a fundamental element of the new lifestyles, in particular following the dramatic pandemic and the Italian Spas can be a cornerstone of health and wellness tourism. The Bonus terme is attracting important flows to internal areas of the country to rediscover new lifestyles ».
Federterme “thanks Mise for the far-sightedness in having launched the measure and believes that this form of incentive that favors tourism and spa businesses, citizens and territories should be immediately refinanced”, reiterates the president, Massimo Caputi.
The support measure launched with the Covid decree of last August, which provides a bonus to cover 100% of the purchase price of the spa services up to a maximum of 200 euros, seems to have met with indisputable success in any case. There was a huge influx of applications with around 2,000 spa operators assigned to upload requests. Indeed, the measure adopted by the government seems destined to create a virtuous circle: according to a survey conducted by Cna Tourism and Commerce, the measure will in fact lead to a turnover exceeding 200 million euros generated by 260,000 tourists and their 500,000. overnight stays.
