Almaty. Three Russian cosmonauts took off this Friday on a Soyuz rocket headed for the International Space Station (ISS), at a time of heightened tensions between Moscow and Western countries over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The crew – made up of its commander Oleg Artemiev and Denis Matveyev and Sergei Korsakov – took off at 15:55 GMT and will fly three hours to the ISS, where they will be received by a team of two Russians, four Americans and one German.
