São Paulo, 11 – The Rosario Stock Exchange projects a soybean harvest of 40.5 million tons in Argentina, in its first estimate for the 2021/22 harvest of the oilseed. The national average yield was estimated at 2,640 kilograms per hectare. This Thursday, 10th, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimated Argentine production at 45 million tons.
“Without significant rains in February and with poor weather forecasts, the specter of the 2018 production disaster haunts the oilseed in 2021/22,” the exchange said in a statement, adding that around 750,000 hectares are unlikely to reach the harvest stage. The Argentine stock exchange also estimates that no province should have a yield above 3,000 kilos per hectare during the season.
