South Carolina Primary | Trump's victory seems inevitable even in Haley's home field

According to opinion polls, Trump is taking two-thirds of the votes from Haley's home turf.

Stateside South Carolina is voting today in the Republican primary for the future presidential candidate.

In the presidential candidate race Donald Trump challenging Nikki Haley is from South Carolina, but despite this the opinion polls lean heavily towards Trump. The latest polls would show Trump getting two-thirds of the votes cast.

The state's reputation as a predictor of the future Republican presidential nominee is solid. Only once since 1980 has there been a candidate who was not favored by the voters of South Carolina.

Voting in the primaries starts in the afternoon Finnish time. Voting will only end on Sunday, Finnish time, when the result will also be known.

The Democratic primaries in South Carolina have already taken place at the beginning of February. Incumbent president Joe Biden 96 percent of the votes.
