During the “Globo” debate, the candidate was called “Father Kelmon”, “Father Kelson” and even “Kelvin”
During the debate of TV Globoheld on Thursday night (September 29, 2022), presenter William Bonner and candidate Soraya Thronicke (União Brasil) got the name of the PTB candidate wrong, Father Kelmonon two occasions.
Bonner called the candidate a “Father Kelman” inviting you to the pulpit to ask your question. Soraya, confused the name of the rival twice: “Father Kelson. Kelvin? Priest candidate”said the senator when choosing him for a fight.
Soraya asked the opponent to how many people did he give the “extreme unction” during the pandemic. The candidate made reference to the Christian rite received by the faithful who are at risk of life.
Soraya added that out of every 6 people who died of covid-19, 4 could have survived and, finally, asked the priest if he was not ashamed to defend the president’s government. Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for that.
It’s not the first time a presenter has made a mistake when pronouncing the priest’s name. In the debate of SBTjournalist Carlos Nascimento, called the PTB candidate Padre “KelmON”, as if it were an oxytone. Then the postulant himself corrected it, using the correct pronunciation: “KELmon”like a paroxysm.
