The future of video games remains a great mystery for many of us. However, companies are constantly doing their best to give us a glimpse of what’s in store in a couple of years, and Sony is no exception. The Japanese company has revealed a new controlwhich seems straight out of a science fiction movie.
Yesterday, Sony held its annual event focused on defining its creative vision for entertainment for the next 10 years. Here, The company presented us with a futuristic control that is used to play on a screen that is floating.
This is clearly just an idea of Sony’s vision for the future, which looks like it will have a big focus on augmented reality, and It is not a product that is in development at the moment. This is what the company commented on the matter:
“Ten years from now, we will live in a more layered world where physical and virtual realities overlap without borders.
To explore this question, we carried out a prototyping exercise under the concept of ‘Creative Entertainment Vision’. “Envisioning through the lens of Sony’s creativity and technology, here we present the future as an extension of our lives today.”
With this, Sony mentioned that its creative vision for entertainment is made up of three phases. They will first leverage technology to have greater creative freedom for creators around the world, transcending physical, virtual and temporal dimensions.
Next, they will focus on connecting diverse people and values across borders to foster vibrant communities. Finally, will collaborate with creators to create exciting narrative-rich experiences that go beyond imagination and spread them as new points of contact for everyone.
We can only wait to know the specific details of this new creative vision that, it will not arrive tomorrow, but eventually it will be within our reach. On related topics, Sony would already be working on its own mobile store. Likewise, the date of the next Days of Play was leaked.
Author’s Note:
The idea of having control like this is just a dream, at least for the moment. However, I don’t think this will happen in the next 10 years. The world is more focused on artificial intelligence and other areas that creating technology that can appear in a science fiction movie is just a dream.
