Alla recent acquisition of Housemarque, Sony surprisingly immediately adds a second one: it is Nixxes Software, a Dutch studio with over 20 years of experience in the development and optimization of video games.
The studio will join PlayStation Studios Technology, Creative, & Services Group to put his technical knowledge at the service of PlayStation Studios.
I deeply respect Nixxes and am thrilled to see this highly experienced team become part of the SIE developer community. They have a strong passion for improving games and delivering the best possible experience for players. Nixxes will be a powerful asset for everyone at PlayStation Studios, helping our teams focus on their most important goal, which is to create unique PlayStation content in the best possible quality.
Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios
Nixxes has great experience in video game design, development and porting, and has collaborated with Square Enix for the creation and PC porting of various Tomb Raiders, Marvel’s Avengers, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, as well as Hitman: Absolution.
The areas of expertise of the studio are quite vast, so it would be a gamble to think that Sony wanted to take it with them only to work on the PC ports of its major titles: however, it is likely that it will be one of its duties under PlayStation Studios.
