Somalia | In Mogadishu, at least eight civilians died in a hotel attack

Most of the people who were in the hotel have been rescued, says the commander of the Somali security forces.

At least eight civilians have been killed in an ongoing attack on a hotel in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, the country’s security forces commander Mohamed Abdikadir tells.

According to Abdikair, the security forces are still fighting the Islamist fighters who attacked the hotel, who are isolated in a room in the hotel building. The commander says that most of the people in the hotel have been saved.

According to previous information, it is an attack by the terrorist organization al-Shabaab. The attack started with a suicide bomber strike.
