The Solano Group, owner of the Llano y Monte winery, has made a significant investment this year to install the only oil mill currently in operation in the municipality of Mula. It is located in the Arreaque industrial estate and has the latest technology for the production of olive oil.
The businessman José Luis Solano, who has lived in the town for decades, is behind this industrial initiative that has involved an investment of slightly more than two million euros. In addition, this commitment in turn leads to the launch of its own commercial brand of olive oil, called Lágrima Dorada.
In fact, the firm is already marketing up to three oil references. Two products from the virgin olive oil ranges (multivarietal, with ripe olives from the area) and extra virgin olive oil. Both available in 1, 2 and 5 liter containers. In the case of the second, it is made from the harvest of the fruit at its optimum moment, at the beginning of its maturation in October and with its cold extraction.
As for the third, from a higher range of extra virgin olive, arbequina monovarietal, of early harvest, it is extracted from what is collected at its optimum moment of maturation in this period from October to November.
Solano also markets wines through its Llano y Monte winery, specifically two red references within the Bullas Denomination of Origin, exactly a twelve-month aging under the El Secreto del Abuelo brand, and another under the winery’s own brand. . In addition, it bottles and markets the product Mar de Fondo, a Verdejo white from the DO Rueda. Some processes that it carries out in its modern facilities of 10,000 square meters of surface, which has the best equipment. The wine production capacity thus reaches 50,000 liters.
