Sara Silvio Orlando to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in the 11th edition of Social World Film Festival to be held up to July 18 to Vico Equense. The actor will meet the public and young juries on Friday 16 July. The film competition, directed by the director Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo, will be divided into 20,000 minutes between in-person and on-demand screenings, 90 events including meetings, debates, masterclasses. All activities are free in line with the festival’s mission which is to bring the public closer to cinema.
In the 19 sections, competitive and not, have been selected 600 works between feature films, documentaries, short films and audiovisual works, with 32 in preview absolute or European, coming from 52 countries of the 5 continents. Back for 2021 the section dedicated to Covid for themed and shot works during lockdown and vertical and VR selections.
Opening ceremony to the monumental complex SS. Trinity and Heaven tonight (12 July) with the actresses Pina Turco, godmother of this edition, Marina Confalone, Nunzia Schiano and Antonella Morea. Among the guests Guglielmo Poggi and Ludovica Nasti (July 13), Massimo Boldi, Gino Rivieccio and Gianni Parisi (July 14), Gianfranco Gallo, Paolo Ruffini and Gigi Savoia (15th of July). Each evening will be introduced by a tribute to Raffaella Carrà between clips of his films, his interviews, his unforgettable dances.
Pre-opening yesterday with the inauguration of the photographic exhibition “The 100 faces of Marcello Mastroianni”, at the Cinema Museum of the territory and of the Sorrento Peninsula (Corso Filangieri, 98). Every evening the public will have the possibility to choose between two screens. Opening film “The Father” by Florian Zeller with Anthony Hopkins, winning film of 2 Oscars (at 9 pm on 12 July) in the Fellini Arena, set up in the SS. Trinity and Paradise, while the programming of the Sala Troisi of the Mio theater is dedicated to author meetings.
