The IMAS monopolizes most of the endowment of the department of Isabel Franco with 51 million euros more
The Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy and Transparency will increase its budget by 12% to 525 million in 2023, a “historic” budget according to its owner, Isabel Franco. The accounts, according to the head of Social Policy, come to consolidate the “social shield” in the Region for people with disabilities, the elderly, dependents and all those who require social services.
The budgets experience an increase of a total of 66 million euros, as detailed, which consolidates a growth of 52% since the beginning of the legislature, “thus demonstrating the firm commitment of the regional government with social policies,” he defended.
The item destined for the Murcian Institute for Social Action (IMAS) is once again the one that takes most of the budget cake with 51 million euros more, after experiencing an increase of 15% to “put into practice the transformation of the care” and provide it with “greater humanization and closer accompaniment,” he said.
In terms of Disability, the counselor highlighted the growth of the budget: 13.4% to 138 million, with 16 million more destined to consolidate early care, with 11 million euros, five more, for the creation of 160 new places care. In addition, she will carry out the improvement of the financing of the services of the concerted entities to reach 4,000 users and 600,000 euros destined to mental health.
In terms of pensions, the accounts increased by 14% to 97 million, and individualized aid for the disabled and the elderly increased by 150%. The counselor detailed the growth of the allocation of basic income in an amount of 100 euros per month per child, the implementation of a pilot project for job placement, employability programs and youth guarantee increase by 183%. On the other hand, the allocation of personal assistants will increase between 200 and 900 euros per month, depending on the degree of dependency.
The item for the elderly will grow to 146 million euros. Thus, the General Directorate of the Elderly will be the one that experiences the greatest increase, with 17%, which will allow the elimination of the co-payment in telecare, with 2 million budgets, to guarantee a free and digitized service, which constitutes the “first step for the transformation of the care model”, prioritizing, as he explained, “home care whenever possible”.
Social services and the third sector grow by 12% to 47 million, hiring 40 professionals to promote the social services law. The General Directorate of Family and Minors will receive 60 million, 19% more, for protection, foster care and inclusion, while Transparency remains at 6.5 million, with the activation of the multi-channel platform of the 012 citizen service.
