Chinese The former Moderator of the Tiktok video application, a person hired to monitor the content of the content, has sued the company.

According to the moderator, the company failed to protect his mental health by constantly exposing him to traumatic content. The challenge concerns both Tiktok and its Chinese parent company Bytedance.

Tells about the case including the BBC.

The action was brought by a former Moderator Candie Frazier says he rates videos containing “very violent violence” in shifts of up to 12 hours every day.

Frazier says he has had to watch videos on things like cannibalism, rape, child sexual abuse, animal mutilation and mass shootings.

She says she has suffered significant trauma from her job and is now suffering from anxiety and traumatic stress disorder.

Tiktok has commented on the matter only, saying that the company aims to promote an “employee-friendly work environment”.

A popular Chinese app around the world, it employs thousands of moderators both in-house and through external subcontractors. It is the responsibility of the moderators to review the content of the application and remove videos that violate the rules of the application.

Frazier did not work directly for Tiktok, but according to the lawsuit, Tiktok controls the content of his work.
