Soccer player suffers a cardiac arrest and collapses in the middle of the game, video

Serbian defender Dragisa Gudelj collapsed in the middle of the game.

The Serbian defender Dragisa Gudelj, from Córdoba of Spain, is under observation.

The Serbian central defender of Córdoba Dragisa Gudelj, who was evacuated this Saturday by ambulance to a hospital from the El Arcángel stadium, where his team played against Racing de Ferrol in a match of the First RFEF -Spanish third category-, is in the ICU but stable and conscious.

The brother of the Sevilla player Nemanja Gudelj, 25, is undergoing tests at the Reina Sofía Hospital, in the Cordovan capital, reported from the Andalusian club.

The Córdoba-Racing de Ferrol match was stopped after ten minutes of play and later suspended due to the footballer fainting on the pitch, who was treated by the medical services on the stadium pitch and later transferred by ambulance, already conscious, to hospital.

Dragisa Gudelj was unwell and collapsed on the ground, with which the assistants came in to perform the cardiac massage.

After about ten tense minutes, the ambulance took the conscious player in the direction of the Reina Sofía Hospital and then it was decided to suspend the game, which registered a tie at one, after consultations between coaches, footballers, refereeing team and leaders.

The suspension of the match was announced over the stadium’s public address system, in which there were just over ten thousand spectators.

Following this incident and, pending the evolution of the player, the match has been postponed and a decision will be made on its resumption in the near future.
