In order to improve the user experience in gmail, Google announced that they will be changing the interface of this platform for all those users who use Workspace. Gmail, Chat and Meet They will be unified into a single space that will not only improve navigation and avoid constant floating windows, but will also look and respond much better.
As you can see in the image above, Chat, Spaces and Meet they will be separated in a vertical bar to which you will have access at all times. This change also incorporates some visual tweaks, such as more blue tones and a rounded-corner Mail window. Similarly formal, the search bar will show you results of emails and conversations from chat.
When will you be able to start using this new interface? It will be from February 8th when you receive a notification and by clicking on it, you will have the option to move to this redesign. If you don’t like it, there will also be the option to revert these changes. By the end of the second quarter of this year, this renewed aspect will already begin to be implemented compulsorily for everyone.
In related news, recently the state of Washington D.C. filed a lawsuit against Google and here you can find out about all these details.
Publisher’s note: I think the Workspace redesign looks great, and these changes will certainly help make the user experience much more intuitive. Gmail’s interface isn’t always the friendliest, particularly for new users, so hopefully this can improve it.
