Snowboarding Rene Rinnekangas rose to the podium for the first time in the World Cup: “There were seams no matter where”

Ensi Rukajärvi was fifth in Switzerland.

Finland Rene Rinnekangas placed second on Saturday evening at the Big Air Snowboarding World Cup in Switzerland.

22-year-old Rinnekangas from Iiisalmi dropped 141 points in Chur’s mc opening. He did best in his first round jump.

In the first round of the final, Rinnekangas grabbed the top spot with the same trick he used to win the qualifiers.

In the second round, he didn’t get his jump to spin properly and had to settle for frontside 1080, leaving the Swiss Jonas Boesiger rose past him.

After many skiers fell, Rinnekangas was still in the last round. He tried his last jump to frontside 1440, but spinning over the descent this time paid for first place.

This was the first time Rinnekangas reached the top three in the World Cup.

“This was a pretty special race that an awful lot of people weren’t slacking their own tricks. I’m really happy to have done a couple of tricks of my own. It wasn’t exactly what I was going to get, but it still went nicely. Eka did well, but Tokka stayed in the barrel. The third was pretty close that would have gone on. It had seams anywhere, but not this time, ”Rinnekangas said in a Snowboard Association press release.

Kalle Järvilehto ranked ninth.

Women in the competition as an Olympic medalist Enni Rukajärvi ranked fifth but fell far short of podium finishes.
