Since its establishment in Palermo on 15 March 2021, the SNOI (Italian National Dentistry Society) has put the interests of the dentist and the well-being of the patient at the center of the program; among these there is also the sensitization of public opinion on the issue “article 28 of Presidential Decree 483 of 1997”, which by limiting the participation in the competitions of 1st level Dentist Manager to the NHS and the inclusion in the outpatient specialist rankings only to holders of a specialization in the field of dentistry (Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Pediatric Dentistry), effectively excludes ~ 75% of Italian Dentists, (data updated to 2019) despite the principles, often underlined by the various rulings of the Administrative Jurisprudence, in stark contrast to the same standard.
Wouldn’t it be appropriate to propose to the Legislator to review the standard and to contemplate a degree in dentistry as the only useful requirement for participation in the aforementioned competitions? SNOI certainly thinks so! Do you want to contribute to the improvement of Dentistry too? Contact us your opinion is important: [email protected]
